My port mapping status is Mapping failed, no router found (or uncooperative)

This is not in itself a problem if you are directly connected to the Internet. If you’re behind a router (if you don’t know whether you are, you are), this means your router is being uncooperative, and has declined Aether’s request to receive inbound requests from a port.

You can do a few things. The first thing you can do is that you can try to open your port manually via your router’s settings. Look at the port visible in status, and configure your router to map that port to the same port on your local machine, and that should take care of it.

If you leave it as is, Aether will still work, but since the only people that can connect to you will be the people that you are inviting in via reverse opens, the content that you post might take more time to reach the network.
